In the period 16-17.10.2020, in Lalapasha (Turkey), the leading partner of the project – Lalapasha Union for providing services in the villages, Regional Administration of Lalapasha, Turkey, hosted an international event – an international initiative to promote sustainable use of historical and cultural heritage and resources in the field of crafts, whose main purpose was to provoke the interest and interaction between the sector of tourism and the final handicraft products, with representatives from Bulgaria and Turkey.
The Bulgarian organization, partner in the project – Euroclub Woman, participated in the project activity, with a delegation of 40 Bulgarian representatives working in the field of crafts from the region of Yambol (Bulgaria), representatives of craftsmen, professional centers, clubs for hobby practices and hobby. creators, institutions.
The first day of the two-day visit passed in a seminar part, presenting the historical development of crafts in the region and the state of attractive modern crafts for potential tourists in the region – “Crafts from the cross-border region as tourist attractions”, presenting potential interest in crafts and their attractive presentation to foreign visitors to the region.The participation of Bulgarian and Turkish representatives in the seminar provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices between the participants in the event.
The second day of the international initiative continued with an organized visit for the representatives of the Bulgarian delegation to several sites, examples of crafts that would provoke the interest of potential tourists from Bulgaria. The famous “EdirneKari” craft was presented, which aroused great interest, as well as handmade soaps in fruit forms and a museum in Edirne, tracing the development of crafts in the Lalapasha-Edirne region from ancient times to the present day.
The event provoked the interest of a large group of people and the general public about the importance of traditional crafts and their place in tourism. The project envisages another international event in Bulgaria, which will again provide an opportunity for discussions and proposals in this area. The preliminary dates for it are 22-23 October 2020.
